Job Summary
The Preschool Program Coordinator works closely with the EC Director and Itinerant teacher to
implement aspects of enrollment, program monitoring, reporting, data collection and
communication to ensure the continued success of the North Carolina State Preschool Program
for Hoke County Schools. Ensure the eligibility, selection, and enrollment processes adhere to
state guidelines. Review all applications received and work directly with families to ensure that
all necessary enrollment/intake forms are completed and obtained in a timely manner for all
children/families assigned to their TEAM Preschool sites. All state and federal Exceptional
Children’s policies and procedures are followed according to IDEA. Also, develop relationships
with staff, partners, parents, community partners, volunteers and other community early
childhood programs. Your duties and responsibilities as Preschool Coordinator are to
oversee preschool curriculum and monitor early childhood education staff in your
program or district. You ensure that the staff and the program are doing all they can to
prepare each student for entry into kindergarten.


Special Knowledge and Skills


1. Ability to effectively direct, plan, implement and evaluate programs in a school-based
environment.
2. Good communication skills
3. Overall knowledge of the curriculum for the assigned level (Birth-Kindergarten).
4. Ability to collaborate with community agencies/programs.
5. Knowledge of the federal and state and local policies governing students with disabilities.
6. Ability to interpret policy and procedures.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and the public from diverse cultural,
social, economic, and educational backgrounds.
8. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a diverse workplace through
ideas and experience.
9. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as
software applications relevant to area of responsibility.
10. Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.

11. Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between in-person work environments.
