Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education and any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

 

Supervises:  None 



Essential Job Functions:  

  • Maintains and updates various Human Resources forms as needed  
  • Provides various HRMS reports, lists and statistical data as requested by supervisor
  • Exercises confidentiality concerning personnel matters
  • Ensures that confidential information is secure at all times  
  • Keeps work area clean and presentable to guests  
  • Ensures that all paperwork is scanned and filed in a timely manner and all data is entered in to the HRMS system in a timely manner  
  • Maintains an attitude of service, assistance and support for employees and guests at all times whether in person or via email or phone  
  • Assists with retirement recognition, orientation/induction sessions and job fairs  
  • Keeps HR Director abreast of any employee issues  
  • Serves as point of contact for all certified applicants and employees 
  • Creates and maintains paper files and electronic files for all certified staff members  
  • Processes onboarding paperwork for all newly certified staff  
  • Keeps abreast of certified vacancies and school needs at all times  
  • Assists applicants with completing online application  
  • Evaluates transcripts/licensure/qualifications of candidates, including lateral entry  
  • Assists new employees in applying for a professional educator’s license and plan of study  
  • Process license requests for certified employees to include renewing, converting and extending licenses, adding license areas, adding experience, applying for graduate pay, etc.  
  • Monitor license status, renewal credits and pay status for all licensed employees and correspond with individuals and Finance as needed  
  • Maintains records of pre-employment staff development and prepare stipends for attendees  
  • Collaborates with Personnel Support Coordinators to ensure beginning and lateral entry teachers are up-to-date with requirements needed for a continuing license  
  • Prepares and maintains employment contracts for all licensed and administrative staff  Collaborates with other HR staff and finance on Title II application  
  • Coordinates completion of monthly board report with all other HR staff  
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

 

 Physical and Cognitive Requirements 

 

The major physical and cognitive requirements listed below are applicable to the Human Resource Specialist – Licensure job classification within Hoke County Schools. 

Work in this classification is considered light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects. 

 

Must be able to:  

  • Prepare, read and comprehend a variety of job related forms, reports, spreadsheets, maps, plans, records, documentation and correspondence  
  • Understand and conform to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style  
  • Speak to individuals or groups of people with poise, voice control and confidence  
  • Respond adequately to inquiries or complaints  
  • Write using standard convention in all languages required by the job  
  • Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
